Dhaka, April 22 (Cricketnmore): Tamim Iqbal is looking forward to taking leadership lessons from Bangladesh's limited overs captain Mashrafe Bin Mortaza in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL).

Iqbal is still in the early days of his captaincy role having been appointed the captain of the Abahani Limited franchise. Mortaza is the skipper of Kalabagan Krira Chakra, a news website reported.

Abahani and Kalabagan will lock horns on the opening day of the Dhaka Premier League on Friday in Fatullah.

"Actually I'm not yet used to the leadership role. I still have a lot to learn. I haven't done much captaincy, just some in recent tournaments," Tamim said on Thursday.

"I think it is similar to batting, the more I will lead, the better I will get. But it would be best if I could learn from (Mashrafe)."

"When I play for the national team, I act as a very good supporting hand with lots of ideas. But donning the leadership role is a completely different thing. I will try to learn from him in tomorrow’s match."
