The star of the victory was Tim David, who smashed a blistering 102* off just 37 balls, including 11 sixes and six fours, as Australia chased down 215 with 23 balls to spare.
David shared a record 128-run fifth-wicket stand with Mitchell Owen (36 off 16), surpassing the previous Australian T20I record. His 50 off 16 balls was the fastest by an Australian man in T20Is.
Earlier, the West Indies posted a challenging total of 214/4, led by Shai Hope, who scored an unbeaten 102 off 57 balls.
