As anticipation builds for the ICC World Test Championship Final, South African spinner Keshav Maharaj has shed light on one of the Proteas' greatest assets — their versatile and balanced bowling attack. In an exclusive conversation with JioHotstar and Star Sports Network, Maharaj credited the team's bowling depth and variety as a pivotal force behind their recent performances.
“The variety in our bowling attack really complements each other,” said Maharaj. “We’ve got height, pace, swing, aggression, and still maintain control. It’s probably one of the most balanced attacks we’ve had in a long time.”
Reflecting on the transition period that followed the retirement of several South African bowling legends, Maharaj noted that the team has finally found a cohesive and effective combination. “After the greats moved on, we went through a transition to find the right combination, and I believe we’ve now found a crucial element in our team’s success,” he added.
South Africa’s bowling unit, which includes a mix of tall fast bowlers, swing specialists, and aggressive pacemen, has played a key role in their journey to the WTC Final.
