    Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) produced a clinical run chase to register a commanding five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in a high-scoring Match 7 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium here on Thursday.

    Nicholas Pooran’s breathtaking 70 off 26 balls set the tone, while Mitchell Marsh played a composed supporting role with a well-paced half-century. Meanwhile, Shardul Thakur starred with the ball, claiming four wickets to dismantle SRH’s middle order.

    The clash also set a new benchmark for high-scoring encounters, with a staggering match aggregate of 383 runs—the highest ever in games involving these two teams. A key highlight of the match was the sensational 116-run partnership between Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran, which not only anchored LSG’s successful chase but also rewrote the franchise’s record books. Their stand surpassed the previous highest second-wicket partnership for LSG, which was 95 runs between KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda.
