Messi's Argentina Loses 0-2 To Uruguay
Uruguay was superior from beginning to end and, with the victory, moved up to second place in the standings with 10 points, two points behind leaders Argentina, who lost their first five games of the South American World Cup Qualifiers. Additionally, Argentina had not allowed goals in an international encounter since the FIFA World Cup 2022 final.
Argentina hadn’t lost a competitive match since its group-stage opener against Saudi Arabia during last year’s World Cup in Qatar.
