Asian Games: 'Good Start, But There Are Areas To Improve,' Says Fulton After India’s 13-1 Win
Aulia Al Ardh: India head coach Craig Fulton was pleased with his team’s emphatic 13-1 victory over Indonesia in their opening Pool A match at the Asian Games here on Sunday but said there were still areas to improve ahead of their next fixture against Sri Lanka.
India began their title defence in dominant fashion as eight different players found the target, with Dilpreet Singh scoring four goals. Shilanand Lakra and Sukhjeet Singh scored twice each, while Abhishek, Rajinder Singh, Mandeep Singh, Harmanpreet Singh and Jugraj Singh were also on the scoresheet.
“Yeah, happy with the first game. I think the boys did well for the four quarters. Not an easy game. We sat with a lot of possession, obviously. All credit to Indonesia; they kept playing all the way through to the end,” Fulton said after the match in a video shared by Hockey India.
