The good news was the return of England winger Bukayo Saka after suffering a hamstring injury in December last year. The 23-year-old came on as a 66th-minute substitute in Tuesday's 2-1 win at home to Fulham and needed just seven minutes before netting Arsenal's second goal of the night.
Saka's importance to Arsenal cannot be underestimated, with the stats showing that in the 16 Premier League games before his injury, Arsenal averaged 2.1 goals every game, while that average dropped sharply to just 1.5 per match since, reports Xinhua.
