Ahmedabad Open Golf: Thangaraja Secures Grand 5-shot Win After Clinical Final Round
The 43-year-old Thangaraja (65-73-69-73), the third-round leader by five shots, capitalized on his comfortable overnight advantage with a clinical 73 as he totaled eight-under 280 for the week. Thanga, who secured his fifth PGTI title and his first win since 2023, picked up the winning cheque worth INR 15 lakh that propelled him from seventh to second position in the PGTI Order of Merit.
Mysuru’s Yashas Chandra (72-70-70-73) also struck a last round of 73 to end the week as runner-up at a total of three-under 285. Italy’s Michele Ortolani (68-74-72-72) came in third at two-under 286 after he posted a fourth-round score of 72.
