Emami Group Ends Investment Role At East Bengal, Continues As Club Sponsor After Durand Cup Triumph
East Bengal Football Club: Emami Group on Tuesday concluded its role as an investor in East Bengal Football Club (EBFC), transferring all its shares and voting rights back to the club, while confirming that it will continue its association with the Kolkata giants as a sponsor.
This development occurs just two days after East Bengal ended its 22-year wait for the Durand Cup, winning the tournament for a record-equaling 17th time by defeating their main rivals, Mohun Bagan, 4-1 in the final.
Although it was withdrawing from its investment and management duties, Emami stated that it would still be committed to the growth and development of Indian football and would continue to support East Bengal via its sponsorship.
