‘They Will Never Be Forgotten’: Mo Salah Pays Tribute To Diogo Jota And Brother Andre
UEFA Nations League: Mohamed Salah took to social media on Friday to send his condolences after his Liverpool teammate Diogo Jota and his brother Andre Silva passed away in a car accident on Thursday. The accident took place around 12:30 am local time in the Spanish province of Zamora. According to the Spanish police, Jota’s car veered off the road while trying to overtake another vehicle. A tyre blowout caused the car to lose control and catch fire. Sadly, both Jota and his brother died at the scene.
"I am truly lost for words. Until yesterday, I never thought there would be something that would frighten me from going back to Liverpool after the break. Teammates come and go, but not like this. It’s going to be extremely difficult to accept that Diogo won’t be there when we go back.
"My thoughts are with his wife, his children, and of course his parents, who suddenly lost their children. Those close to Diogo and his brother, Andre, need all the support they can get. They will never be forgotten," posted Salah on social media.
