United States Grand Prix: Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has stated that he is taking painkillers to deal with the bumps at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, further raising his concerns about them at the United States Grand Prix.
Verstappen had previously called the bumps at COTA "unacceptable" and "out of control" and wanted the track to be "fully open up" for the issues to be solved. Now, the four-time champion, who will start the United States GP from second place, has stated that he is taking pills to deal with the issues.
"I've had a few scans done, and you can see it in certain discs at the bottom of the back; there's nothing left there," Verstappen told ViaPlay. "Before Turn 1 and Turn 19 I lift myself out of the seat before I get there, otherwise it's simply impossible. I'm getting the pills in to manage."
