The No. 3 seed Jessica Pegula came from a set down to defeat No. 26 seed Emma Navarro 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 in 2 hours and 21 minutes at a packed Arthur Ashe Stadium, advancing to the US Open semifinals for the third consecutive year.
This is Pegula's fourth Grand Slam semifinal; she also reached the last four at the Australian Open earlier this year. The US Open 2024 runner-up now holds the most three-set wins (90) and comeback wins (48) among WTA Tour players since the start of the decade.
No. 1 seed and two-time defending champion Sabalenka awaits Pegula in the semifinals after dismissing Linda Noskova in a hard-fought quarter-final, 7-6 (1), 3-6, 7-6 (7).
