US Open: Top seed Alexander Zverev credited his regular workouts at the gym for being able to come out on top after another gruelling outing at the US Open 2026 on Friday.
Zverev battled past France's Quentin Halys in another five-setter as he bagged a win 6-4, 4-6, 7-6 (7/3), 6-7 (3/7), 6-3 in a demanding four-hour and 33-minute marathon.
Zverev called his performance a "pretty s***" and credited his workouts for helping him to emerge victorious in tough situations.
