Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium: NorthEast United FC finished their Indian Super League 2025-26 campaign on a high after clinching a 2-0 win against relegated Mohammedan Sporting Club in the Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
Jairo Samperio and Dinesh Singh Soraisham found the net for the Highlanders, who climbed one place to ninth in the table and concluded their campaign with 16 points. Mohammedan SC, who had their relegation confirmed earlier in the season, finished at the bottom of the standings with three points, ending their campaign without a win.
The game had an open feel to it in the early stages, with both teams looking to attack freely in an attempt to finish the season positively. The two sides tried to stretch each other through the flanks, with NorthEast’s Jithin M.S and Mohammedan’s Rochharzela heavily involved in wide areas and constantly searching for their forwards with early crosses.
