Maninder Singh scored four goals including a hat-trick while Mohmmed Raheel scored three as the Indian team began its campaign in the Men's Asian Hockey 5s World Cup Qualifier with a solid 15-1 win over Bangladesh here on Tuesday.
For India, Maninder Singh scored in the 10th, 18th, 28th and 30th minutes of the match while Mohammed Raheel struck in the 2nd, 15th and 24th minutes. Sukhvinder (13', 22'), Gurjot Singh (13', 23'), Pawan Rajbhar (19', 26'), Mandeep Mor (8'), and Dipsan Tirkey (9') were also on target. For Bangladesh, Sawon Sarowar (2') scored the lone goal.
India started the match on the front foot, making a dangerous move straight away and allowing Pawan Rajbhar to make a penetrating run. But Bangladesh made the save and caught India on the counterattack and Sawon Sarowar (2') scored the first goal in the match for Bangladesh.
