Women Open Boxing Championship: The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has suspended Pramod Kumar as Secretary General with immediate effect, for "flagrant misuse and abuse of authority, non-cooperation with and active obstruction of the inquiry processes, unexplained instances of financial irregularities and impropriety."
Earlier, Kumar had moved a no-confidence motion against president Ajay Singh on grounds of “total breakdown of trust and serious governance collapse.” Later, he accused BFI chief and executive director Col. Arun Malik of criminal intimidation to derail a proposed no-confidence motion against Singh.
"The Boxing Federation of India (BFI) has officially issued an order suspending him from the office of Secretary General with immediate effect in exercise of powers under Clauses 24(xvi) and 24(xxxvi) of the BFI Constitution," BFI said in a statement.
