Asian Games: Antim Panghal settles for silver after losing to Japan’s Moe Kiyooka in 53 kg final (New Delhi: Asian Games 2026 selection trials)
Nagoya City Inae Sports Center: India’s Antim Panghal settled for the silver medal in the women’s 53 kg wrestling event after losing 1-9 to Japan’s Moe Kiyooka in the gold-medal bout at the Asian Games 2026 here on Saturday.
Antim, who had won bronze in the same category at the Hangzhou Asian Games, began the final cautiously against the home favourite as Kiyooka took an early lead in front of a packed crowd at the Nagoya City Inae Sports Center.
The Japanese wrestler was awarded a point after Antim was unable to score during the passivity period, before extending her advantage to 2-0 by the end of the opening period.
