There is always a first for everything. When the first time an event happens on a global stage, it becomes a landmark moment that is forever remembered. In this series of looking back at Indian Cricket's Landmark moments, let's talk about who took the first wicket in each format. 

First Wicket In Test Cricket For India

India played the first test match on June 25th, 1932 against England at the historic stadium of Lord's. England elected to bat first. Mohammad Nissar began the proceedings with the ball and also took the first wicket for India in the test cricket. Nissar bowled Herbert Sutcliffe for just three runs. 

First Wicket In ODIs For India 

India played the first ODI match on July 13th, 1974 against England at Leeds. India bowled second after making 265 in the first innings. Syed Abid Ali and Eknath Solkar began India's bowling. Eknath Solkar soon became the first wicket-taker for India in ODIs when he removed Dennis Amiss for 20 runs, trapping the Englishman in front. 

First Wicket In T20Is For India

India played the first T20I match on 1st December 2006 against South Africa at Johannesburg. South Africa elected to bat first and Zaheer Khan began the proceedings for India with the ball. In the third over, Zaheer Khan removed Loots Bosman for one to take the first wicket for India in the T20Is.
