On February 13th (Monday), in a historic venture, the auction for the inaugural Women's Premier League was completed. A total of 86 players were sold as the five franchises spent a combined 58.85 crores INR.
Smriti Mandhana emerged as the most expensive buy in the auction, attracting a price of 3.40 crores. Australian all-rounder Asheligh Gardner and English all-rounder Natalie Sciver-Brunt followed with 3.20 crores each. Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues and Shafali Verma were bought for 2.60, 2.20 and 2 crores respectively.
