Chetan Sakariya, who celebrates his birthday on 20th August, is one of the top upcoming fast bowlers in India. Sakariya's life has been filled with tragedies but the future of the talented young fast bowler looks bright. 

Here are some interesting facts, trivia, and records about Chetan Sakariya: 

1) Chetan Sakariya comes from a village named Vartej, which is 180 kms away from Rajkot, Gujarat.

2) Sakariya had a poor childhood. His father used to drive a tempo but stopped it after he fell ill. In May 2021, Sakariya's father passed away due to Covid-19. 

3) Chetan Sakariya never had formal training until the age of 16. He used to play tennis ball cricket. 

4) Sakariya wanted to be a batter when he grew up but became a bowler when he came into class 11th. 

5) He grabbed eyeballs when he picked 18 wickets in six matches in the Cooch Behar Trophy in 2015. His performance earned him a scholarship and training under Australia's Glenn McGrath in the MRF Pace Foundation. 

6) While training in the nets of Saurashtra, Sakariya dismissed Sheldon Jackson who later gifted him a pair of shoes before the left-armer went to the MRF Pace Foundation. 

7) To help his family make the ends meet, Sakariya used to work in the shop of his maternal uncle, who sponsored his cricket expenses and fees in return. 

8) Sakariya was part of the RCB squad in the IPL 2020 in UAE as a net bowler. In IPL 2021 Auction, the left-armer got picked for Rajasthan Royals(RR) for a whopping 1.2 crores. 

9) After an impressive first half of IPL, Chetan Sakariya made his international debut in both T20Is and ODIs against Sri Lanka in July 2021.
