Litton Das Fit For First Australia Test As Shoriful Islam Cleared For Second Match

Bangladesh's experienced wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das is fit and available for a Test against Australia in Darwin this week, the national cricket board said Wednesday.

The 31-year-old had been sidelined since June with a left calf injury and was initially ruled out of the two-match series.

In a further boost for the visitors on their first Test tour of Australia in 23 years, Bangladesh Cricket Board said that left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam had also cleared a fitness test on Monday.

Islam, who recovered from a hamstring injury, is set to fly to Australia Wednesday, and would be available for the second Test.

His return provides timely reinforcement for Bangladesh, who have been hit by injury ahead of the tour.

After the Darwin Test starting Thursday, the second and final Test will be played in Mackay from August 22.
