MI vs SRH IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to hold their nerves as they defeated Mumbai Indians by 3 runs in a thriller to stay alive in the race to playoffs.
For SRH, pacer Umran Malik picked up 3 wickets and remained the highest wicket-taker. Bhuvneshwar Kumar bowled a wicket maiden in the 19th over of the innings when Mumbai needed 19 runs to win. Washington Sundar also picked up a wicket.
Rohit Sharma was the top scorer for MI with 48 runs in 36 deliveries with 2 fours & 4 sixes. While Tim David looked running away with the match with his 18-ball-46 with 3 fours & 4 sixes but his run out in the 18th over ended MI hopes.
In the first innings, Rahul Tripathi took on Mumbai Indians' bowlers and powered Sunrisers Hyderabad to a total of 193/6 in 20 overs.
Batting at #3, Tripathi came out to bat in the 3rd over. The 31-year old batter smacked 76 runs in 44 deliveries with 9 fours & 3 sixes. Priyam Garg played a knock of 42 runs in 26 balls with 4 fours & 2 sixes while Pooran also scored 38 runs in 22 deliveries with 2 fours & 3 sixes.
For MI, Ramandeep Singh was the most successful bowler with 3 wickets to his name. Daniel Sams, Jasprit Bumrah & Riley Meredith chipped in with 1 wicket each.
Earlier, MI captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to field first against SRH in the 65th match of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
