Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored a quick 43 before falling to Gudakesh Motie, while Ibrahim Zadran retired out after completing a brisk half-century. Darwish Rasooli and Azmatullah Omarzai then added 56 runs, helping Afghanistan post 182/6.
In reply, West Indies struggled against regular wickets and slipped to 54/5 early. Despite a late fightback from Matthew Forde, who remained unbeaten on 52, West Indies fell short by 23 runs.
