RR vs KKR IPL 2022: The mastermind spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has been in an impeccable form in this season as he claimed the first fifer as well as the first hattrick of the IPL 2022. Chahal grabbed a total of 4 wickets in the same over, with 2 chances of achieving a hattrick.

KKR while chasing a target of 218, were at 178/4 after 16 overs. Chahal came on to bowl the 17th over while Venkatesh Iyer was on strike. The leggie had dismissed Nitish Rana on the last delivery of his last over and dismissed Venkatesh Iyer. This put him on a hattrick, however, the bowler wasn't able to manage a wicket on the next two deliveries.

On the 4th delivery, Chahal grabbed the biggest wicket as he dismissed Kolkata's top scorer and captain Shreyas Iyer 85(51). In a confusing decision, Shivam Mavi was sent out to bat ahead of Pat Cummins, who had already won a match for Knight Riders this season with his bat. Mavi slogged the first delivery he faced and was caught out by Riyan Parag safely at long-on.

Chahal was on a hattrick once again in the same over as Pat Cummins came out to bat. The Australian had to play out the last ball, but he fell for a golden duck as he failed to read leggie's spin, edging a simple catch to Royals' captain and wicketkeeper Sanju Samson behind the wickets.

Earlier, Kolkata Knight Riders captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss & opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 30th match of IPL 2022. A century from Jos Buttler and good finishing from Shimron Hetmyer took RR to a huge total of 217. KKR opener Aaron Finch fired while Shreyas Iyer played a captain's knock, but lack of support from the other end meant Kolkata eventually fell short by 7 runs after getting all out for 210 in 19.4 overs.
