CSK vs MI IPL 2022: IPL 2021 champions Chennai Super Kings were already having a terrible season, and it got worse against Mumbai Indians in the 59th match of IPL 2022. CSK were restricted to a total of below 100 runs for only the second time in IPL history.

However, CSK's find this season, left-arm pacer Mukesh tried to bring back Chennai into the game and keep their chances for playoffs alive, along with fellow young pacer Simarjeet Singh. After dismissing explosive MI opener Ishan Kishan in the very first over of the innings, the bowler was continued in the attack for powerplay.

In the 5th over, MI were already 2 wickets down with both openers back in the pavilion. All-rounder Daniel Sams was sent up the order to bat at #3. On the 3rd delivery of the 5th over, Mukesh delivered a sharp inswinging delivery.

The bowl tailed back from length and caught Sams plumb in front. The batter missed the flick and looked pretty much in line with the stumps. The umpire adjudged it 'out', and the batter went for the review, which was lost as the Sams was dismissed after scoring 1 run in 6 deliveries.

On the 5th delivery of the same over, Tristan Stubbs, playing his debut match, was on strike. Mukesh bowled another inswinging delivery which Stubbs tackled while staying deep in his crease. The batter missed it completely and was struck dead in front and the umpire gave it out.
