CSK vs MI IPL 2022: IPL 2021 champions Chennai Super Kings were already having a terrible season, and it got worse against Mumbai Indians in the 59th match of IPL 2022. CSK were restricted to a total of below 100 runs for only the second time in IPL history.

However, CSK's find this season, left-arm pacer Mukesh tried to bring back Chennai into the game and keep their chances for playoffs alive, along with fellow young pacer Simarjeet Singh. After dismissing explosive MI opener Ishan Kishan in the very first over of the innings, the bowler was continued in the attack for powerplay.
