World Giants have been in good form and have won 2 out of 3 matches, their only defeat coming against Asia Lions in a rain-affected match. The match was reduced to 10 overs, where the Giants' top order collapsed while chasing a target of 100 runs, managing only 64 runs. While openers Lendl Simmons and Gayle scored 23 runs each, none of the other batters were able to cross the double-digit mark. In their last match, however, Gayle stepped up with 57 runs while Shane Watson scored 26 runs as World Giants defeated India Maharajas by 3 wickets. 

Asia Lions on the other hand have won 2 out of 3 matches and are coming from a defeat in their last match. While opener Upul Tharanga scored 69 runs off 48 balls, Tilakratne Dilshan contributed with 32 runs. Abdul Razzaq scored an unbeaten 27 runs off 17 balls down the order. The bowlers however were taken to cleaners by the India Maharajas openers as Asia Lions conceded a 10-wicket defeat.
