T20 World Cup: Pakistan skipper Fatima Sana lauded her side’s collective effort after they ended their Women’s T20 World Cup campaign with a 37‑run win over the Netherlands at the County Ground on Saturday.
Gull Feroza’s 63 not out took Pakistan to 126/6 despite losing their last four wickets for just 20 runs, and was followed by Fatima and Ayesha Zafar picking three-fors each to bowl out the Netherlands for just 89.
“We needed a win, and credit goes to the whole team for the way they played today. Ayesha Zafar is also a senior player, and she has played a lot of time in the Pakistan team. She knows how to take responsibility. Today she took it, and the way Gull Feroza batted, I think, is what we needed in the last couple of matches,” said Fatima at the conclusion of the game.
