DC vs PBKS IPL 2022: Rishabh Pant has come a long way from being 'booed' by the Indian team fans on misses behind the stumps, to being a permanent member of the Indian team. Pant has worked and improved on his wicketkeeping skills and he showed a snippet of the same in the match against Punjab Kings.

After being put in to bat first by Delhi Capitals, Punjab openers added 33 runs in the first 3.3 overs without losing a wicket. Lalit Yadav was bowling the 4th over of the innings. Lalit delivered the fourth ball on short length against Dhawan, who managed a faint glove on the ball while trying to paddle it.

Delhi Capitals' captain and wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant, had already anticipated this and moved down the leg-side while the batter was committing to the shot. Due to his sharp presence of mind, Pant took this catch swiftly and dismissed Shikhar Dhawan for 9 runs in 10 balls.

Rishabh Pant was handed the captaincy of the Delhi Capitals team after Shreyas Iyer was ruled out for half of IPL 2021. After Iyer gained back his fitness, DC chose Pant to remain as their captain. Rishabh Pant was retained for 16 crores INR by Delhi Capitals ahead of IPL 2022 auction while Shreyas Iyer was acquired by Kolkata Knight Riders and was appointed captain.
