In the 3rd Quarter Final of the Ranji Trophy, UP bowler Shivam Mavi shook the Karnataka batting with three victims out of the Karnataka top 4 batters. However, all-rounder K Gowtham smacked the in-form bowler for an alluring no-look six which attracted fans' attraction.

Karnataka were 190/6 in the first innings after 64.3 overs. Shivam Mavi, who had already picked up three-wicket, was firing into bowl the Karnataka lower middle-order batter Krishnappa Gowtham. On incoming delivery on a fullish good length, Gowtham came across the line and swung his bat with might. 

While other batters would have gone for the mid-wicket region, Gowtham went downtown for a shattering six. Gowtham had played just 6 balls till then and had scored just 4 runs. However, the bowling all-rounder took on the best pacer of the opposition and smacked a six which would be pleasing to everyone who witnessed. 

Talking about the match, Uttar Pradesh won the toss & opted to bowl first against Karnataka in the 3rd Quarter Final of the Ranji Trophy 2022. At stumps on day 1, Karnataka are at 213/7 with Shreyas Gopal (26*) and VIjaykumar Vyshak (12*) on the crease. After opener Ravikumar Samarth scored 57 runs, his dismissal by Saurabh Kumar was followed by a regular fall of wickets. 

Krishnamurthy Siddharth (37) and captain Manish Pandey (27) stabilized the inning with a partnership of 64 runs for the 4th wicket, but Saurabh Kumar struck again and dismissed Manish Pandey and Srinivas Sharath in quick succession to bring back the game under UP's control. Saurabh Kumar picked up 4 wickets while Shivam Mavi picked up 3.
