Royal Challengers Bangalore pulled off a 13-run win against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator match of IPL 2022, making their spot in Qualifier 2 while knocking out LSG. Rajat Patidar was adjudged the player of the match for his thunderous ton, but what ultimately took RCB across the winning line was the penultimate over of the LSG batting, which was bowled by RCB's Josh Hazlewood.
Lucknow Super Giants required 33 runs off the last 12 deliveries to win the match and keep their title chances alive. KL Rahul (78*) and Evin Lewis (1*) were at the crease for LSG. KL Rahul had already stuck 3 fours & 5 sixes while opening the innings and looked set enough to take his team across the winning line.
In the 19th over, Josh Hazlewood was brought to bowl his 4th over of the match. Starting with a dot ball, Hazlewood bowled a wide and then conceded a single. The Australian bowler followed up with two more wides and conceded a run via byes on the third delivery.
