MI vs RR IPL 2022: Jos 'The Boss' Buttler. A nightmare for Mumbai Indians ever since they released the English opener. Buttler averaged 75 with a strike rate of 165+ in 5 innings against MI and has yet again amassed runs against his favourite opponent in IPL 2022.

Even though Rajasthan Royals lost their first wicket in the 3rd over itself, Buttler carried on the slaughter at the other end. The batter has taken on a relatively weaker Mumbai Indians bowling lineup and smacked them all around the park. Although none of the bowlers apart from Jasprit Bumrah were spared from Buttler's wrath, Basil Thampi was plundered brutally.

In the 4th over of Rajasthan's innings, with the powerplay still on, Buttler decided to boost the team's run rate. After playing the first ball dot, Buttler took on Thampi and smacked a four on the second delivery. A short length ball from Basil and Buttler timed it well enough for it to almost cross the boundary line for a six.

On the third delivery, Buttler cleared his legs on a juicy length ball from Basil Thampi and Buttler smashed it over long-on for a six, long enough to assume the ball went out of the ground on first sight. On the 4th delivery, Basil looked just to throw the ball and get the over completed. Jos Buttler again cleared his legs and smacked the ball over cow corner for another six.

Basil Thampi attempted a yorker on the 5th delivery but missed it. Buttler had taken guard deep inside the crease and got under the length, pumped it straight back over for a one-bounce four. On the last delivery as well Buttler smacked another six similar to the earlier two sixes in the over, plundering a total of 26 runs in this over. RR, who were at 17/1 after 3 overs, reached 43/1 in 4 overs which was a huge booster.

While talking about the match, with Jos Buttler firing on will and skipper Sanju Samson anchoring at the other end, RR are at 128/2 in 14, looking for a mammoth total. Earlier, Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bowl first against Rajasthan Royals in the 9th match of IPL 2022. This match is being played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai.
