Just as Mumbai Indians' season was coming to end after a poor show in the IPL 2022, chants of Jasprit Bumrah being an overrated bowler grew louder. In 10 matches, Bumrah had taken just five wickets, which didn't help in making much of an impact for MI, or so they thought. Bumrah had to silence his critics soon and he did that in style.
Against Kolkata Knight Riders, Bumrah was at his lethal best. He didn't let any KKR batter let loose against him and set them all up against bouncers. He came to bowl in the 15th over and the first ball he bowled to Andre Russell was a perfect yorker that imbalanced the great West Indian.
On the next ball, Bumrah bowled a back of the length delivery which Russell attempted to hit over long-on but got caught at the boundary. On the fifth ball of the same over, Bumrah once bowled a perfect bouncer, right on Nitish Rana's face, who ended up edging the ball to the keeper.
