Tamil Nadu Premier League 2022 kicked off on Thursday (June 23rd) with an extremely close match between Nellau Royal Kings and Chepauk Super Gillies, where Nellai won in the super over after 40 overs of play failed to produce a result. However, what caught the public's attention was an unfortunate event where some explicit and inappropriate gestures were shown on the cricket field!

Chasing a target of 185, Chepauk Super Gillies got off to a good start as openers Kaushik Gandhi & N Jagadeesan added 35 runs in the first 3.3 overs. Baba Aparajith was bowling the 4th over for Nellai Royal Kings where Chepauk captain Kaushik Gandhi was on strike.

As Aparajith ambled into a bowl, he saw Jagadeesan stroll just out of his crease on the non-striker's end, and casually flicked the bails off. Baba appealled and Jagadeesan was short, and the umpire had no other option but to give it out. Prior to this delivery, Baba had stopped bowling mid-way and maybe that was a warning for the non-striker.

N Jagadeesan walked out fuming as he raised his middle finger towards the bowler as he was walking back towards the pavilion. The batter showed up & down motion with his raised finger while walking back. The 26-year-old may get in deep trouble for his explicit gestures born due to frustration and anger.
