In the 2nd ODI, Aiden Markram failed to make any useful contribution to the South African team. Without facing a single delivery, Markram was dismissed via run out without opening his run account. Actually, Heinrich Klaasen and Markram were eyeing a quick single, but Jos Buttler's swiftness sent Markram back to the pavilion.

This incident happened in the 4th over of South Africa's inning. David Willey was bowling this over for England. South Africa were off to a disastrous start. The tourists lost their first three wickets for just mere 6 runs. Amidst this, all eyes were on the Markram-Klaasen duo. The fifth delivery of this over went to hit Klaasen's pad, after which Markram and Klaasen ran for a single.

Since the ball was away from the English bowlers, everyone thought that the South Africans would easily steal the single. However, this didn't happen and English skipper Jos Buttler sprinted from behind the wicket and dived to collect the ball and dislodge the stumps. And like this, Markram was dismissed without opening his run account.
