Kolkata Knight Riders finally had a good night's sleep last night as they finally managed to win a game after 26 games and losing five matches on the trot. KKR's fourth win of the IPL 2022 came against Rajasthan Royals when they managed to chase down the 153-run target with five balls to spare.

Although the win was set up by a disciplined bowling performance in the first inning to restrict an in-form Rajasthan batting for 152/5, the finishing touches to the game were given by Nitish Rana and Rinku Singh.

While Rana scored 48 off 37 balls, Rinku smacked 42 in just 23 balls with the help of six fours and a six. When Shreyas Iyer got out in the 13th over, it was Rinku's attacking knock that helped KKR finish the game quite convincingly. In the 66-run partnership for the fourth wicket with Nitish, Rinku scored 42 runs.

Rinku has been around the KKR squad for quite a time now. Although he hasn't been given many chances to prove himself at the IPL level, whenever he does get in the field, Rinku makes sure he leaves his impact.

Rinku was finally added to the playing XI against Gujarat Titans where he not only picked four catches, patrolling the boundary but scored 35 off 28 balls with the bat. Against Delhi Capitals, Rinku scored another 23 off 16. But his performances weren't coming in a KKR win and he had decided that he will win the game for the team next time he gets an opportunity.

"I had a feeling that I will make runs today and be the man of the match so I wrote it '50 with a heart' on my hands before the match. For a long time I was waiting when I will become a man of the match, when will I score my first fifty for KKR. It took five years but came good," Rinku Singh told after he was awarded the player of the match for his 42 off 23 against Rajasthan.

Rinku Singh made his IPL debut in 2018 against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Eden Gardens but has only played 13 games so far in the tournament.

"The way Rinku is maintaining is calm, playing only his second or third game, is outstanding. He is a great asset for the franchise for the future. The way he gets his starts, he doesn't look like a newcomer," KKR captain Shreyas Iyer said after the match.
