Karnataka opener Mayank Agarwal scored 22 runs in the second innings while he was dismissed for 10 runs in the first innings against Uttar Pradesh in Ranji Trophy Quarter Finals.

Ranji Trophy 2022 - In the 3rd quarter final match between Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh, opener Mayank Agarwal yet again failed to provide a good start in the second innings as well as he was dismissed courtesy of a nonchalant catch behind the stumps by wicket-keeper Dhruv Jurel. 

After obtaining a lead of 98 runs in the first innings, Mayank Agarwal opened for Karnataka in the second innings. Mayank was dismissed for 10 runs by Shivam Mavi in the first innings, and yet again failed to provide a good start to his team. 

Karnataka lost their first wicket for 33 runs in the form of Ravikumar Samarth in the 9th over. In the 12th over, UP's highest wicket-taker in the first innings, Saurabh Kumar came on to bowl his 3rd over. 

On the first delivery of the over, opener Mayank Agarwal charged down the track as he looked to swing it down the ground. However, the batter was nowhere close to the pitch of the ball. The ball also turned big time and kissed the toe-end of Mayank's bat. UP wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel grabbed an excellent one-handed reaction catch to dismiss the experienced batter. 

Mayank Agarwal was dismissed after scoring 22 runs with 5 fours as the team total read 35/2. While writing this piece, Karnataka are at 84/6 in the second innings with a lead of 182 runs in the 3rd session on day 2. Srinivas Sharath (4*) and Krishnappa Gowtham (0*) are at the crease. Ankit Rajpoot and Saurabh Kumar have picked up 2 wickets while Prince Yadav has managed 1 wicket. This match is being played at KSCA Cricket Ground, Alur.
