WATCH: Deepti Sharma's One-Handed Catch To Dismiss Australian Top Scorer Beth Mooney

Beth Mooney scored 61 runs in the final of T20 Cricket in Commonwealth Games 2022 before getting dismissed courtesy of an excellent catch by Indian all-rounder Deepti Sharma.

At the Edgbaston Ground in Birmingham, in the Commonwealth Games 2022 T20 Cricket event, the Australian women's cricket team defeated team India by 9 runs and won the gold, while India won the silver medal. The final match was a tight contest between the two teams and excellent fielding was witnessed in this match. In this match, India's star all-rounder Deepti Sharma held onto an excellent catch, a video of the same has gone viral on the social media. 

Deepti Sharma's catch has not only won the hearts of the fans but has earned the appreciation of the experts as well. After witnessing this catch by Deepti Sharma, the fans have now drawn up a comparison of the all-rounder with Ravindra Jadeja.

Deepti's catch was seen in the 18th over of the Australian innings. Sneh Rana was bowling the over for team India and Beth Mooney was on strike. On the second ball of the over, Australian batter played an aerial shot towards deep mid-on, and Deepti sprinted towards the ball. 

The Indian player kept her eyes fixated on the ball due and on sensing an opportunity and reverse jumped and caught an unbelievable catch with ease. Deepti fell to the ground after taking the catch but managed to held on to ball despite the impact on falling. Beth Mooney was the top scorer for the Australian team as she was dismissed after scoring 61 runs off 41 balls with 8 fours.

Earlier, Radha Yadav also took an amazing diving catch to dismiss Australian captain Meg Lanning, sending her back to the pavilion. In the match, India needed to chase down 162 runs in 20 overs to win the gold medal. Indian team came really close to winning the match, but Australia pulled back in the death overs with quick wickets and won the gold medal in the inaugural Women's T20 Cricket Competition in Commonwealth Games.
