KKR vs RCB: In the 9th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023), Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 81 runs to register their first win of the season. Batting first in the match, Kolkata Knight Riders posted a massive total of 204 runs on the board. In reply, RCB openers gave a good start but as soon as the openers were dismissed, the Bangalore franchise struggled to get going as they were bowled out for 123 runs in 17.4 overs. 

Captain Faf du Plessis was the top scorer for RCB with his knock of 23 runs off 12 balls with 2 fours & 2 sixes while Virat Kohli scored 21 runs off 18 balls (4x3). However, the fall of Virat's wicket started a collapse for the RCB batting unit. Before getting dismissed, Virat Kohli looked in good rhythm after smacking a four on the first bowl of the innings. However, Sunil Narine cleaned up the set batter in his very first over of the game to get the opening wicket for Kolkata. 

Prior to this, Sunil Narine dismissed the former Indian skipper many times in the IPL. Narine maintained his dominance against the star batter and left him clueless. A video of the dismissal has been uploaded by the official Indian Premier League on Twitter and is now being shared by users in numbers. While talking about the match, Shardul Thakur scored a thunderous fifty for KKR while spinners Varun Chakravarthy and Suyash Sharma impressed the spectators with the ball.

Notably, Kolkata brought Suyash Sharma as an impact sub for Venkatesh Iyer. On the other hand, Bangalore brought in Anuj Rawat as the impact sub for Mohammed Siraj in the game. However, Suyash's 'impactful' performance contributed to the win for KKR. After losing their first game, Kolkata opened their win account in the IPL 2023 under the leadership of Nitish Rana and it would be interesting to see how far the two-time champions are able to go in this season.
