Virat Kohli has announced that he will step down as Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) captain after the end of the Indian Premier League(IPL) 2021. 

Kohli said, “This will be my last IPL as captain of RCB. I’ll continue to be an RCB player till I play my last IPL game. I thank all the RCB fans for believing in me and supporting me," in a video released by RCB on Twitter.

It has been an eventful week for Indian cricket where Kohli on Thursday announced that he will be stepping down as Indian T20I captain after the T20 World Cup 2021 and now three days later, he has once again surprised the fans with this decision. 

Kohli was been the captain of RCB since IPL 2013 and has never won a title in his leadership so far.
