RR vs RCB IPL 2022: Not long ago, Virat Kohli was seen opening the innings for Royal Challengers Bangalore with a very young left-handed batter. However, that time has passed quite fast and now the cricket fans witnessed the former captain take a brilliant catch to dismiss his former teammate. 

Devdutt Padikkal looked in good touch while playing his first-ever match against his former franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore, smacking a beautiful six on the second delivery he faced. The top-order batter scored 37 runs in 28 balls after coming in to bat in the 2nd over when RR opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (4) was dismissed by David Willey. Padikkal smacked 2 fours and 2 sixes in his innings. 

Devdutt Padikkal looked set on the crease and a good score was being expected from him. However, on the last ball of 10 over, Harshal Patel deceived the 21-year old batter with a lack of pace on swinging delivery. Padikkal mistimed his shot due to lack of pace as he smacks the ball one-handed, managing only a thick outside edge as the bat handle was turning. 

The ball went very high up in the air, and as it came down it found former RCB captain Virat Kohli's safe pair of hands. At one point it looked that this catch would also be botched similar to the three catches RCB dropped earlier, but Kohli recovered well and ran backwards, back-tumbling to complete the catch.

While talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals are at 127/3 in 18 overs with Jos Buttler (43*) and Shimron Hetmyer (27*) on the crease. David Willey, Harshal Patel & Wanindu Hasaranga managed 1 wicket each for RCB. Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis won the toss & opted to bowl first. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
