VIDEO: Fayyaz Butt Takes A Screamer To Dismiss Bangladesh's Mahedi Hasan

In the ongoing match of Round 1 between Oman & Bangladesh, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss & surprisingly opted to bat first against Oman. This match is being played at Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amerat.

In the 5th over of the Bangladesh innings, Fayyaz Butt, Sialkot-born Oman player took a one hand screamer to dismiss Mahedi Hassan for a 4 ball duck. Mahedi rushed on the pull shot & Butt took an athletic catch. He dived to his left in his followthrough and managed to grab it with both hands. The ball was short of length, Mahedi was beaten for pace as he swung hard at it.

While writing this piece, Bangladesh is at 112/4 in 15 overs. Bangladesh opener Mohammad Naim is batting at 56* from 47 balls with 3 fours & 3 sixes while Afif Hossain has just arrived at the crease and is yet to face a ball.

Bangladesh needs to win this match to keep their qualification chances for the World Cup alive as they had to face an upset in their first-round 1 match against Scotland. Oman, on the other hand, would be looking to confirm their entry into the main tournament as they are coming in fresh from a 10 wicket victory against Papua New Guinea in their first match.
