VIDEO: 'Careless' Harshal Patel Walks Off Even After No Appeal From The Fielding Side

In the ongoing 3rd T20I match between India & New Zealand, India posted 184/7 in 20 overs while batting first. Openers Rohit Sharma & Ishan Kishan provided an excellent start with 69 runs in 6 overs. 

However, India lost a lot of quick wickets towards the latter half. While Harshal Patel was batting for India, he did something that initially shocked all the players & spectators.

During the 19th over of India's batting, Harshal Patel was looking in good batting touch. However, on the third delivery, Lockie Ferguson bowled one slightly wide of the off stump. Harshal went deep inside the crease, swinged his bat and missed. 

After missing the ball, Harshal started walking towards the pavillion without any sort of appeal from the bowler or fielders. All the fielders, spectators & even commentators were shocked that why was Patel walking towards the dugout. 

It was only when we watched the replay everyone came to know that Harshal Patel had actually smashed the bails with his bat swing while going deep inside the crease. 

Meanwhile, India after batting first posted 184/7 in 20 overs against New Zealand. Captain Rohit Sharma remained the top scorer for the team with 56 runs off 31 balls. Apart from Rohit, Kishan scored 29 runs while Shreyas Iyer scored 25 runs. New Zealand skipper in this match, Mitchell Santner picked up 3 wickets.

While writing this piece, New Zealand are at 41/3 in 7 overs. They now need 144 runs in 13 overs to avoid clean sweep in the T20I series. Earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss & opted to bat first against New Zealand. This match is being played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
