Former Afghanistan captain, Asghar Afghan, batted for the last time in international cricket today against Namibia in the 27th match of the T20 World Cup. Asghar had announced his retirement in a sudden manner yesterday.
The final innings had to be a special one as he smashed 31 runs from 23 balls with the help of three fours and a six. As soon as Ruben Trumpelmann got him out, Namibian players congratulated him on his successful career and didn't celebrate his wicket.
Afghan was given a special guard of owner by his teammates at the boundary ropes.
Alan Wilkins interviewed Asghar Afghan at the end of the innings and directly asked him why he was retiring in the middle of the tournament instead of waiting till the end.
