DC vs KKR IPL 2022: Umesh Yadav started off the tournament in style, picking up regular wickets in the powerplays. However, his performance slowed down in the last few matches. Nonetheless, defending a low score against Delhi, Umesh provided a breakthrough on the very first delivery of the innings!

Prithvi Shaw, who has shown good form with the bat this season, was on strike as Delhi Capitals had a target of 147 to chase down. Umesh Yadav came on to bowl the first over. The ace bowler delivered a full delivery sliding down the leg side. However, the delivery curved away after pitching and Shaw closed the face of his bat too early.

The ball took a thick leading-edge of Shaw's bat and was sent back to the bowler. Umesh Yadav displayed excellent athletic skills to dive in front to complete the catch. 

Before this, Shaw had scored 254 runs in 7 innings in this season of the IPL. However, the young Indian opener special likes Kolkata Knight Riders as opponents and had smacked five fifties in the last 7 innings against them. With a low total on the board, KKR needed to start off strong and Umesh provided the perfect start with Prithvi Shaw's wicket. 

Earlier, Delhi Capitals captain Rishabh Pant won the toss & opted to bowl first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 41st match of IPL 2022. Nitish Rana scored 57 runs in 34 balls, while captain Shreyas Iyer contributed with 42 runs in 37 balls to help KKR to 146/9 in 20 overs. For DC, Kuldeep Yadav picked up 4 wickets for 14 runs in 3 overs while Mustafizur Rahman picked 3 wickets in the 20th over. This match is being played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.
