Kolkata, April 28 (Cricketnmore) Delhi Daredevils opener Sanju Samson on Friday lamented the dropped catch of Kolkata Knight Riders' (KKR) Robin Uthappa, saying the miss cost them the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2017 match.
Uthappa smashed a 33-ball 59 as KKR won easily by seven wickets to stay at the top of the points table and inch closer to the playoffs. Delhi were condemned to their fourth defeat in as many games and are now staring down the barrel.
Uthappa made the most of some comical fielding in the sixth over, when a leading edge off the in-form batsman's willow saw Samson and Amit Mishra converge in the region between short fine leg and square leg with none of them getting under the ball eventually. The Karnataka batsman was on nine at that time.
