England team which has been in top form of late in T20s, defeated Sri Lankan side by 26 runs. England picked up the first Lankan wicket in the first over itself and never gave the opposition time to recover.
For England, spinners Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid picked up two wickets despite the dew. Pacer Chris Jordan also picked up 2 wickets. Liam Livingstone picked up 1 wicket but he was rather expensive as he gave away 34 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Chris Woakes picked up a wicket as well.
For Sri Lanka, Bhanuka Rajapaksa scored 26 runs off 18 balls with 2 fours and 2 sixes. Captain Dasun Shanaka scored 26 runs off 25 balls with 2 fours & 1 six while in-form star all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga scored 34 runs off 21 balls with 3 fours & 1 six. These 3 batters held the crease for a while and at one point Hasaranga looked like he could finish the match but was caught out by an excellent team effort courtesy of Jason Roy & substitute fielder Sam Billings.
