Match No. 11 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 saw one heck of a performance by the hosts, which not many had expected. This game was rated by the International Cricket Council (ICC) as the biggest upset in T20 World Cup history. USA, who are making their debut in the T20 World Cup, outclassed three-time finalists, including 2009 T20 World Cup winner Pakistan, at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. Not many predicted this result before the game, but the way USA responded to this challenge was commendable.

They dominated Pakistan for most of the match, and despite that, Pakistan took it into the Super Over with some good death bowling. However, USA held their nerves, clinched a historic win in the Super Over, and beat a strong test-playing nation. With this, they have taken a giant step towards qualification for the Super 8. Defeat against Associate Nation: This was an unexpected defeat for Pakistan, and not many predicted it. But somehow, they managed to do it, and with this, they registered an embarrassing record. They became only the second test-playing nation after Bangladesh lost to USA. Adding to that, this is the first time that Pakistan have lost a match against an Associate Nation in T20Is.

Most T20I Runs: Pakistan captain Babar Azam played a rather slow innings in USA vs PAK clash. He scored 44 runs off 43 balls, with three fours and two sixes. He was very slow to start with, but then picked up the face. Though this knock came in a losing cause but he has become the leading run-scorer in the shorter format. With 4067 T20I runs, Babar has surpassed Virat Kohli's tally of 4038 runs. Now the Pakistani captain is the highest scorer in this format.

5th Tied match in T20 WC: The USA vs PAK clash was only the fifth tied game in the history of the ICC T20 World Cup. Pakistan have been involved in two of the five tied games. Overall, Pakistan had suffered three defeats in the four tied games they had in T20Is. Furthermore, this was only the fourth time that a super over decided the result of a T20 World Cup match. 

Most T20I Wickets for USA: Saurabh Netravalkar, who was the star for USA picked up 2/18 in his four overs. With this, he became the leading wicket-taker for his country in the shorter format. He has now taken 29 T20I wickets, going past Nisarg Patel's 27.
