Bangladesh bowling attack exposed Oman weak middle & lower-order batting lineup and handed them a 26 run defeat while defending 153. For Bangladesh, pacer Mustafizur Rehman picked up 4 wickets, including the wicket of Aqib Ilyas, who performed well in the last match for Oman. Shakib al Hasan picked up 3 wickets, while Saifuddin & Mahedi Hasan took 1 wicket for Bangladesh.

For Oman, Jatinder Singh looked in good touch with his knock of 40 runs off 33 balls with 4 fours & 1 six. But apart from him none of the batters could fave the jubilant Bangladesh bowling attack and Jatinder couldn't close the match for his team, getting out to Shakib al Hasan in the 13th over. With this win, Bangladesh has kept its qualification chances to Super 12 alive.

In the first innings, Bangladesh, with the help of Mohammad Naim (64 off 50 balls) were able to post 153/10 against Oman. Apart from Naim, Shakib al Hasan scored 42 off 29 balls with 6 boundaries but threw his wicket away with lazy running in a must-win match for his team. Apart from him, none of the batters were able to stay at the crease with Naim and pave the way towards a high score.

For Oman, bowlers were on fire as they took all 10 wickets. Fayyaz Butt & Bilal Khan picked up 3 wickets each & Kaleemullah picked up 2. Captain Zeeshan Maqsood also picked up a top-order wicket, of Nurul Hussain.

Earlier, Bangladesh captain Mahmudullah won the toss & opted to bat first against Oman in the 6th match of Round 1 of T20 World Cup 2021. This match is being played at Al Amerat Cricket Ground (Ministry Turf 1), Al Amerat.
