A brief definition of Murphy's law suggests that anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Ishan Kishan came into this season with a heavy price tag of 15.25 crore INR but also a good form with the bat. Mumbai Indians didn't hesitate in buying a 23-year-old, who is yet to be proven for his consistency.

However, in the eight games of the season, Ishan has scored 199 runs at an average of 28 and a strike rate of close to 109. In the last few games, Ishan has been struggling, like really struggling.

Ishan's struggle continued against Lucknow as well as he made eight runs in 20 balls. Ishan wasn't able to put the bat on the ball and that also led to his unlucky dismissal.

On the first ball of the eighth over, Ravi Bishnoi bowled a very wide delivery that Kishan chose to chase and in that sequence, he got a thick inside edge. The ball bounced and Jason Holder, who was standing at the slips, caught the ball.

LSG players appealed and even Ishan looked underconfident as the umpire went up to check. On replay, it was found that the ball had bounced off the foot of wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock and then went straight to Holder. It was a bizarre mode of dismissal that can only happen to someone who is in dire straight to have a bit of luck.

Ishan Kishan's face summed up the emotions and the unusual way of getting himself out. He had a helpless smile - summing up his IPL 2022 so far.
