AUS vs SL: Australia's prominent batter and a part of global 'Fab 4', Steve Smith was, as usual, playing with full commitment in the 2nd T20I between Australia and Sri Lanka at Sydney. However, the batter paid a price for this dedication and has been ruled out for the rest of the 3 T20Is.

In the Last over the match, Sri Lanka were at 146/7 chasing a target of 164 set by Australia after being put in to bat first. Nissanka smacked a four and took a double before he was dismissed on the 3rd delivery. On the 4th delivery, Lankan spinner M Theekshana came on to bat.

On the very first delivery, bowled by Stoinis who was bowling the ultimate over, Theekshana smacked the length delivery towards deep mid-wicket. Steve Smit was fielding at the position, and displayed an unreal effort as he jumped backwards and caught the bowl with both hands, but landed inside the boundary line, and smacked his head on the ground while landing.

The medical staff immediately came to the 32-year old's aide and walked off towards the dressing room. Cricket Australia has announced on Twitter that Steve Smith has suffered a concussion and need 6-7 days to recover. This means the batter will miss the remaining 3 T20Is against Sri Lanka.
